My Thuan 2nd Bridge (Wind Tunnel Testing)

Mythuan 2nd Bridge, Vietnam
My Thuan No.2 Cable-stayed Bridge will be constructed 350 meters upstream from the existing My Thuan No.1 Bridge at Tien Giang and Vinh Long Province of Vietnam. My Thuan 2 will start from an intersection with Trung Luong-My Thuan Expressway and end at an intersection with National Highway 80, the starting point of My Thuan-Can Tho Expressway. The length of the cable stayed bridge will be 650m in total consisting of two pylons, a main spans of 350m and two side spans of 150m with concrete box decks.

​The wind tunnel tests and analyses were carried out to investigate the wind-induced behaviors of the bridge during and after the construction. The items of tests and analyses are described as follows: 

Wind Tunnel Test/Analysis Conducted:

▣ Section model test of bridge deck
▣ Aeroelastic model test of free standing pylon
▣ Aeroelastic model test of full bridge
