18 March 2022 marks a special day for Turkey: the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge is open to traffic. The new bridge will carry up to 45,000 vehicles each day and is a vital element to stimulate local and international economic development, logistics and tourism in the area.
Connecting Turkey's European and Asian shores, the 1915 Canakkale Bridge was built by Turkish and South Korean firms with an investment of €2.5 billion ($2.8 billion). It has the longest main span -- the distance between the two towers -- of any suspension bridge in the world.
TESolution has been a subcontractor for the design-build contractor DLSY joint venture consisting of Daelim, Limak, SK and Yapi Merkezi since the start of the project in the Spring of 2017. TESolution has contributed to the successful completion of the bridge by providing wind vibration damping devices including Active Mass Damper(AMD) and SB dampers for controlling hanger cable and hand-rope vibration.
TESolution has been awarded to provide Active Tuned Mass Damper damper(AMD) for Air Traffic Control Tower of Jeju international airport. Two sets of AMD with total 12 ton/set, bi-directional, strokes of X=120mm Y=80mm will be installed inside the damper room on 10th floor out of total 11th floor tower in year 2024.
SB Dampers for hanger cables have been completely installed on Canakalle bridge in Turkey. Great jobs for those who were involved in designing, manufacturing and installation process taking great amount of efforts and pains to complete in time! We expect that the vibration of the hanger cables will be controlled to the level where hanger cables will not be affected by wind induced vibration.
Commemorating Construction of Pendulum TMD for "Treasure Garden Residential Building" in Taichung, Taiwan.
Taichung Treasure Garden Residential Building is a luxury high rise residence in Taichung. Set to be one of the tallest structure in the area. Taichung is well known for its severe wind environment, and our Tuned Mass Damper was installed to aid the wind resistance design of the building. In most cases, the Tuned Mass Dampers are installed to ensure habitability against wind induced vibrations.
With this project however, the goal was to reduce the base sheer momentum against the wind load (return period of over 50 years). It has successfully reduced the base sheer momentum of wind load by 30%. The TMD has also been designed to withstand earthquakes that are frequent events in Taiwan. The 150 ton pendulum type TMD has been installed on the upper part of the building, where it will not only secure the building against wind load, but also be an unique ecstatic feature for the residences.
Korea Pavilion in Expo2020 dubai is open from 1 October 2021 - 31 March 2022. And TESolution's Tuned Mass Dampers were installed under 4 ramps!
Korea Pavilion in Expo2020 dubai is open from 1 October 2021 - 31 March 2022. The 4 ramps crossing in and out of the main structure showing the nice surrounding views are freely hanging from the main structure without any support, which can lead to exposure to a large foot fall vibrations. Visitors on the ramps would feel very uncomfortable, dizziness and headaches without the 5 units of Tuned Mass Damper installed under the ramps by TESolution.
TESolution participated in designing and manufacturing Tuned Mass Dampers for the 4 ramps of Dubai Expo Korean Pavilion, United Arab Emirates in order to reduce the discomfort level of the passengers by controlling the foot fall vibration of the ramps caused by walking visitors. Each 5 TMD were installed under the critical locations of the ramps.
250m tall, 1750 passengers, the world's largest Ferris wheel just opened in Dubai and TESolution's TMD technologies are behind the scene.
TESolution participated in designing and manufacturing Tuned Mass Dampers for the A-Frame of Ain Dubai, United Arab Emirates in order to reduce wind vibration of the structure for enhancing the comfort level of the passengers. Each type of TMD were installed inside the A-Frame Leg and A-Frame brace locations. (a) 50 tons TMD inside A-Frame brace (b) 7.5 tons TMD inside A-Frame Leg.
Active Mass Damper was installed in the 3rd control tower of Incheon International Airport. Because the size of the control tower was not so large, a compact AMD with moving mass of 1.5 tons was installed. This AMD activates in 2 directions (x and y-direction), and 2 sets of AMD were installed. On a special note, AMD’s main body and controller were installed on the roof top of the control tower, which are exposed to the open air, so it was designed with attention to waterproof, dust proof, and temperature control.
