2nd Namhae Bridge (wind resistant design)
|
2nd Namhae Bridge is a 3-dimensional suspension bridge, which the bridge deck is suspended by the inclined hanger cable, with main span of 890 m and two side spans of 50 m.
The pylons are inclined to approach bridge to reduce the difference of cable tension between main span and side span. The steel box deck girder of the bridge, with an overall width of 25.7m, carries four lanes of traffic. The wind tunnel tests and analyses were carried out to investigate the wind-induced behaviors of the bridge during and after construction. The items of tests and analyses are described as follows: |
Wind Tunnel Test/Analysis Conducted: ▣ Wind climate analysis ▣ CFD Analysis ▣ Section model test of bridge deck ▣ Aeroelastic model test of free standing pylon ▣ Aeroelastic model test of full bridge ▣ Buffeting analysis ▣ Wind-resistant design of hanger cable |
