Incheon Bridge (wind Resistance Design)
The Incheon Bridge is the longest cable-stayed bridge in Korea and the 5th longest in the world. The full bridge consists of 5 spans, which include a 800m-long center span, two 260m-long mid-spans, and two 80m-long side-spans. The steel box deck girder of the bridge, with an overall width of 33.4m, carries six lanes of traffic. The wind tunnel tests and analyses were carried out to investigate the wind-induced behaviors of the bridge during and after construction. The items of tests and analyses are described as follows: |

Wind Tunnel Test/Analysis Conducted:
▣ Section model test of bridge deck ▣ Section model test of pylon leg ▣ Aeroelastic model test of free standing pylon ▣ Force balance test of free standing pylon ▣ Aeroelastic model test of full bridge ▣ Buffeting analysis ▣ Flutter analysis ▣ Wind-resistant design of stay cable ▣ Evaluation of vehicle’s traveling safety |
