Mersey Gateway교량의 경우 크게 세 부분으로 나누어져 있습니다: 북측 진입 고가교, 메인 중심부, 남측 진입 고가교. 이중 중심부의 경우 경간 길이 약 998m의  four-span, three-mono-pylon, cable-stayed 교량이며, 북측 및 남측 고가교의 경우 경간 길이가 약 706m와 544m 규모입니다. 총 경간 길이는 약 2.25km입니다.
교량 건설 중 그리고 건설 후 풍진동 등을 측정하기 위해  풍동실험테스트와 분석이 진행되었으며 진행된 테스트는 다음과 같습니다.
