Sarang Global Ministry Center
Sarang Global Ministry Center (SGMC) consists of two structures, the main structure that the chapel and the main office building are connected with a corridor, and a chapel tower which stands separately. Due to the 40m wide road on the east and the north side of the building, as well as the Children's Park on the west side, SGMD's exposure to the wind load was thought to be at a very high level. Also, as the terrain is on high ground, accelatrion of wind speed was anticipated, and the atypical shape of the building does not allow wind pressure to be calculated with wind criteria. Due to the aerodynamic instability of the structure, the habitability of chapel tower also had to be evaluated with wind tunnel tests.
Wind Pressure Test was conducted with the following assessment categories. ▣ Wind Pressure Test : Determine wind pressure for cladding design, determine differential pressure for parapet ▣ Extension: Habitability evaluation of the chapel tower |
