​​Taichung Treasure Garden Residential Building is a luxury high rise residence in Taichung. Set to be one of the tallest structure in the area. Taichung is well known for its severe wind environment, and our TUned Mass Damper was installed to aid the wind resistance design of the building.


In most cases, the Tuned Mass Dampers are installed to ensure habitability against wind induced vibrations. With this project however, the goal was to reduce the base sheer momentum against the wind load  (return period of over 50 years). It has successfully reduced the base sheer momentum of wind load by 30%. The TMD has also been design to withstand earthquakes that are frequent events in Taiwan.

The 150 ton pendulum type TMD has been installed on the upper part of the building, where it will not only secure the building against wind load, but also be an unique ecstatic feature for the residences.
