Technomart is a 54 story tall mixed use high rise office building in Seoul with the height of 189m that had experienced sudden vibration in July 2011. The vibration lasted for 10~15 minutes and after the incidence was reported to 911 as an earthquake, the residents were evacuated at around 2PM the same day for the next 3 days.

After consultation with the structural engineering experts, it was found out that the vibration was caused by Taebo class that was taking place at the fitness center located on the 12th floor. 
Apparently, the frequency of Taebo exercise exactly matched with the building's natural frequency and it resonated to cause floor vibration.  

TESolution developed  50 ton Hybrid Mass Damper(HMD) and installed it on the top floor not only to mitigate the floor vibration due to Taebo class but also to mitigate wind induced vibration as well.

What is unique about the Technomart HMD is that the vertical vibration is mitigated by TMD portion of the device whereas the horizontal wind vibration is mitigated by AMD portion and this is first of its kind in Korea.
