Yeongjong Bridge (Train Driving StabilitY)
Yeongjong Bridge is the world’s first and longest 3-dimensioinal cable and self-anchored type suspension bridge, which the stiffening girder of the bridge is suspended by the inclined hanger cable without separate anchorages, with main span of 300 m.
The stiffening girder of double deck Warren Truss type, with an overall width of 41m, carries 8 lanes for vehicles and 2 lanes for trains.

The aerodynamic force applied on the train is different when it is in normal operation and when it is crossing a bridge. The original design only took the normal operation and its aerodynamic force into account, and a derail accident occurred during crossing. To find a solution, wind tunnel test for safety of train operation to compute the aerodynamic force on the train was conducted for the first time in Korean history.
