Research on vibration reduction of wind turbine tower has been successfully completed at TESolution structural lab. The wind turbine towers are generally greatly exposed to vibrations not only from wind but also from the turning moment of the turbine. Such vibrations can cause number of problems on the structure, including malfunction of the generator and structural instability of the tower. A pendulum type TMD(Tuned Mass Damper) with silicon oil damper was designed to be installed inside to reduce the vibration. The result showed reduction of the vibration with over 30%.
