18 March 2022 marks a special day for Turkey: the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge is open to traffic. The new bridge will carry up to 45,000 vehicles each day and is a vital element to stimulate local and international economic development, logistics and tourism in the area.
Connecting Turkey's European and Asian shores, the 1915 Canakkale Bridge was built by Turkish and South Korean firms with an investment of €2.5 billion ($2.8 billion). It has the longest main span -- the distance between the two towers -- of any suspension bridge in the world. TESolution has been a subcontractor for the design-build contractor DLSY joint venture consisting of Daelim, Limak, SK and Yapi Merkezi since the start of the project in the Spring of 2017. TESolution has contributed to the successful completion of the bridge by providing wind vibration damping devices including Active Mass Damper(AMD) and SB dampers for controlling hanger cable and hand-rope vibration.
